Restaurant Week [08.21.14]

Saturday night I enjoyed my first Restaurant Week dinner at Trostel’s Greenbriar, also a first. That’s the answer to yesterday’s Where in the World Wednesday. Note: I rarely go out on Wednesday but I post Where in the World on Wednesday.

I started with a glass of Belle Glos Meiomi Pinot Noir, a favorite of mine.

1st course: Roasted Alaskan King Crab Leg with tarragon grapefruit compote and Madagascar vanilla bean beurre blanc. I have no idea what all of that is, except delicious! Wonderful presentation, too.

2nd course: Char Broiled Applewood Bacon Wrapped Birkwood Berkshire Pork Tenderloin with braised summer greens, sweet corn and fingerling potatoes finished with green chili cilantro ponzo broth and Thai chili oil. I don’t know food but I know what I like, and I like(d) this!

3rd Course: Almond Vanilla Bean Mascarpone Cheese Crepe with minted pineapple and strawberry salsa topped with dark chocolate whipped cream. You had me at, almond.

All in all a great dinner. It didn’t hurt that the bartender, Christopher, was handsome and charming. Yes, I will go back.
