It took Leonard Cohen more than two years to write. It has been covered, covered, and covered again. More than 300 times. It is Hallelujah. Whether or not this is the best cover is debatable, but it is a good representation.

Darn good cover, I would agree. Also clearly the best song ever to appear in a Shrek movie and if that isn’t a Grammy category already it should be.

One of the few covers, perhaps the only one, I’ve actually enjoyed. Actually, now that I think about it, I did like Rufus Wainwright’s version.
